Yesterday, Historic City News reporters learned that Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, Jeff Atwater, visited the St Johns County Chamber of Commerce to meet area business leaders and to tour the headquarters of one of the county’s largest employers, Ring Power Corporation.
According to Chamber President Kirk Wendland, Atwater requested an audience with local job creators. “This morning’s forum focused on what Florida can do to encourage growth and help them expand their businesses,” Wendland told Historic City News.
The morning forum included Joe Gordy, Flagler Hospital; Dan Alexander, ThompsonBaker Insurance; Susan Ponder-Stansel, Northeast Florida Community Hospice; Ed Wuellner, Northeast Florida Regional Airport; and Wayne Howell and Letha Wiseman from Herbie Wiles Insurance.
Atwater also took some time to tour Ring Power; one of the largest Caterpillar dealers in the Southeast. Lead by Ring Power Director of Product Support Vince Aguayo, Atwater and a group that included Wendland and Ring Power executives Kevin Robbins, and Sue Miller, toured the headquarters of the significant local employer.
“This St. Johns County headquartered company supplies equipment to a diverse array of projects through the country and the world,” Wendland said. “This tour has been a valuable look at the technology, innovation and people that make Ring Power an industry leader.”
The St Johns County Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization that promotes, advocates and lends credibility to more than 750 businesses.
