Historic City News has learned that St Johns County detectives recovered the body of a woman this morning; believed to be 47 year-old Susan Raye Norris who was last seen by friends and family members on January 26th.
Witnesses observed the 2001 white Lexus RX300 sport utility vehicle that Norris was driving in a wooded area off CR-208. When deputies responded, they located the vehicle and the body nearby.
St Johns County authorities notified Historic City News on Saturday that they had received a call from the woman’s family reporting that she was depressed and despondent. Media in the area notified readers, listeners and viewers that the white-female, whose last known address was 8305 Whisper Trace Way in Naples, was believed missing or endangered.
Sheriff’s Corporal Catherine Payne advised that foul play was not suspected in the death, however, the cause and manner of death, as well as positive identification of the remains, will be determined when District 23 Medical Examiner, Dr. Predag Bulic, completes his post-mortem investigation.
