Bridge of Lions shut down

Gina Busscher, Public Information Director for FDOT District Two, reported that the Bridge of Lions failed to lock down properly following its scheduled 10:30 a.m. opening and that bridge maintenance crews are working to correct the problem at this time.

“We are currently trying to work out a problem with the traffic gates,” Busscher explained. “When the draw came down to close, the traffic gates would not go back up.”

Traffic on the bridge has been shut down since the incident. Historic City News will be notified when the problem is corrected.
