Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind communications director Miki Gilloon informed local Historic City News reporters that, on May 30, employers and business partners who participate in the “Career Development Program” will be recognized for their contributions to the vocational education of students at the state school.
The program will host the first annual “Outstanding Employer of the Year” breakfast from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. in the FSDB Music Building on campus.
The Career Development Program gives students the opportunity to learn valuable on-the-job skills needed to win competitive jobs. The partnership between the school, sponsored students, and business partners, prepares the students to enter the workforce after graduation.
