Posted on 03/25/201203/26/2012 By Historic City News

Patti Henderson reported to Historic City News that the St Johns County Tea Party will host Craig Miller as their guest speaker when they meet on Tuesday, March 27th.

Miller is a candidate for the newly drawn US Congress District 6 seat.

He was formerly CEO of Ruth’s Chris Steak House and has been on the national scene in the restaurant industry for a number of years.

Announced Republican contestants for this seat are Jacksonville attorney Ron DeSantis, Jacksonville City Councilman Richard Clark and Miller.

Florida House member Fred Costello, former mayor of Ormond Beach, also a Republican, has been watching Congressman John Mica to be certain that he does not intend to run before he makes his bid for the seat.

Most recently, St Johns County School Board Chairman, Beverly Slough has expressed serious interest in the seat. Heather Beaven, who ran for Congress in 2010, is the only Democrat in the race.

The St Johns County Tea Party meets at 120 Meadow Avenue on Vilano Beach with the social at 6:30 pm and business meeting at 7:00 p.m.
