Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called to Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum on Sunday to investigate the burglary of a vehicle in the parking lot of the local attraction.
The victim returned to their vehicle to find that, while the vehicle was left unattended, a window had been broken; and, personal items from inside the vehicle were missing.
Police were able to track one of the missing items — a credit card; the same credit card that was used to purchase a Play Station 3 for $264.99 at Target in St. Augustine a short time later.
A still photograph taken from surveillance video yesterday at 1:03 p.m. was released to Historic City News in the hopes that one of our readers might recognize the man shown leaving the St Augustine Target on US-1 South; with the purchase under his arm.
