The Friends of St Paul School of Excellence are hosting a fundraiser entitled “Sowing Seed of Excellence” on Friday June 8, at 6pm. This RSVP event will be held at Global Wrap, 218 Riberia Street. Donations of $ 25 per person are for site development and startup expenses to furnish and equip the school. The site location for the St Paul School of Excellence is 195 Volusia Street. Over the next 60 days, the site will begin development and the modular campus will be erected to serve the educational needs of the community. This fundraiser is yet another opportunity for all interested parties to get an inside view and understanding of the St Paul School of Excellence first hand from faculty members and administration. Clay County SHIP and St Johns Housing Partnership present the Clay County Housing Expo on Saturday June 9th from 9am to 3 pm. This even will be held at the Agricultural Center, 2463 SR 16, Green Cove Springs with free admission. There will be counseling session with credit counselors, free foreclosure consultation with attorneys, 1sttime home buyer information and down payment programs, information on budgeting and credit repair. St Luke AME Church will observe their 2012 Men’s Day Celebration on Sunday June 10th at both the 11am and 4 pm services. Evangelist Christopher Coleman, Harvest Time Evangelistic Ministry, Hastings is the morning speaker and Reverend Byron Hodges, St Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church, St Augustine, will be the afternoon speaker. This years theme is “Men Working Together To Do The Work of the Lord & Savior”. Brother Cameron Harris is Chairman, Brother Michael Lyons is Co-chairman. Pastor Mattie Riley Hays is Pastor.
The West Augustine CRA Steering Committee will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, June 11, 7pm at Collier Blocker Puryear Park, 10 North Holmes Blvd. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Instead of listening to what “they” say, come to the meeting and get the truth.
Applications are being accepted for summer camp 2012 at St Paul AME Church. This8 week summer camp starts on June 20 and runs through August 12, 2011. Grades K-8 (ages 5-14) will meet 5 days a week from8 am to 5 pm. Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be included as well as weekly field trips. The cost per student is $ 115 and the benefits priceless.
