All Touchable Artworks: includes sculpture, assemblages, pottery, fiber art, mixed media, textured wall hangings, interactive art.Works are both aesthetically appealing and engaging for the blind and visually impaired. What is agritainment you ask? Botanical Chords
Terry Ashley’s images explore the visible and hidden worlds of nature by combining gorgeously shot photographs with images of the plants at the cellular level. The result is visually fascinating and thought provoking. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artist beginning at 5:00pm. She will be available to answer questions about her techniques and her photographic approach. Through the Keyhole Tea
The Dow museum of Historic Houses invites you to an afternoon tea and a guided tour through some of Saint Augustine’s oldest houses. Not any ordinary tea, but a revealing experience of tea and energies stirred up over a century ago. Tea, sweets, red and white wines will be carefully served in the elegant dining room of the stately Victorian Worchester House. The fun begins with Tea Leaf Readings, Palm Readings, and Pendulum Dowsing and Victorian Parlor Games. Guests will receive a small Victorian gift as a memento of their visit. After tea and a peek into your future, a guide from 1906 will gather the guests for a stroll back in time through historic houses and gardens, sharing some 400 years of stories related to the families who made this property home from 1790 to 1910. 4pm at 149 Cordova Street in St. Augustine, Florida. Bats in the Park After Dark
Come join in the spooky fun. Florida Park Ranger, Ashley Regelski, will be leading this fun and educational bat program at the Faver-Dykes State Park picnic area. Learn how to identify the different bat species at the park and learn about their habitat, eating habits, and life cycle. The program will unfold the many wonders of the bat and provide a fitting start to the Halloween season. Trick or treat candy will also be provided. Six Degrees of Separation
The story centers on Ouisa Kittredge, a Fifth Avenue socialite and Flan, her purveyor of high-art husband. Their privileged world makes them easy prey for a con artist who mysteriously shows up at their front door-injured. 3rd Annual Historical Ghost Walking Tour
This event, sponsored by Ancient City Tours, will meet at Love Tree Cottage, 6 Cordova Street, Saint Augustine, FL 32084 at 8pm. Costumed tour guides will lead visitors on a 90-minute walking tour through Saint Augustine’s Historic District, famous for its ghostly encounters and ghastly legends. Ancient City Tours will donate all proceeds of these eerie evenings to EFOF (Epilepsy Foundation of Florida). Money raised will stay in Northeast Florida to help the Jacksonville office fight to stop seizures. National Archaeology Day
The GTM Research Reserve, in conjunction with the Florida Public Archaeology Network, celebrate at the GTM Environmental Education Center. Enjoy a guided trail hike that will highlight cultural history, learn about archaeology in Northeast Florida and test their own archaeological skills during the Archaeolympics. Sarah Miller, Director of the Northeast Region of the Florida Public Archaeology Network will discuss the basics of archaeology in a presentation entitled “Fantastic Archaeology: Florida Frauds, Myths, and Mysteries.” The guided trail hike is at 9am and the festivities are from 10am until 2pm. Salt Run Challenge
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Anastasia State Park, in partnership with Anastasia Watersports and The Friends of Anastasia State Park host their inaugural fundraiser to promote physical and healthy lifestyles in Saint Augustine and surrounding areas. Events include a kayak, stand up paddleboard race, races held along the marked corridor of Salt Run, and a one mile and two mile. Participants are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costume for a costume contest. A fun bag will be handed out to each participant, T-shirts will be available for purchase, along with an oyster roast and drinks for purchase. Cracker Day
Florida’s Country Cracker Heritage is celebrated with bluegrass banjos, horsemanship demonstrations and barbecue. Horseback games and barrel racing, livestock show, cracker whipping demonstrations, and exhibits of Florida Cracker equipment. Fall Arts Classes
The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach announces the second session of fall arts classes taught by professional artists and or educators in the arts.
