Many hands make light work for SAYS

Director of Development, Alison Johnson, reported to Historic City News that Saturday proved to be a productive day for the future home of St Augustine Youth Services on US-1 South; when supporters from local community organizations, businesses and schools showed up to see the new project and lend a hand.

According to Schuyler Siefker, Executive Director of the local non-profit organization, volunteers brought their own shovels and left an impression on the boys and their new home.

“I am very thankful to all that came to tour and help,” Siefker told reporters. “This was a great success, and I look forward to our next community day when we’ll paint.”

Volunteers helped dig the boys dig four trenches for cabling and the Salvation Army truck was on site providing drinks and snacks for the workers.

Over a dozen devotees helped — making light work of the project that was completed in less than two hours.
