Debra Johnson reported to Historic City News that this afternoon’s fire alarm at the Holiday Inn, located at SR-100 and I-95 in Palm Coast, may have been a false alarm, but management relocated the guests in the hotel as a precaution — and because the first two floors were flooded.
The Holiday Inn located at 200 Flagler Plaza Drive was evacuated shortly before 2:00 p.m. today after fire sprinklers flooded the first and second floors of the hotel.
The Palm Coast Fire Department, Flagler County Fire Rescue and Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene.
Firefighters have not found a fire and are working to determine what set the sprinkler system off.
Hotel staff relocated all guests from this hotel to another one in the area while the building is being checked.
