Palm Coast kicks off International Food Wine Fest

Posted on 06/02/201206/04/2012 By Historic City News

Palm Coast Mayor Jon Netts offers a ceremonial toast; welcoming House candidate Travis Hutson to the city’s very first International Food and Wine Fest in Central Park, going on today from noon to 9:00 p.m. and tomorrow noon to 5:00 p.m.

A culturally diverse tapestry spreads across the park with music, cuisine, dance and costumes presented by a global representation of the local cultural organizations.

Guests entering the park will receive a passport to be stamped at each country exhibit. Completed passports may be entered into a drawing for a free trip, compliments of the Gerling Travel Group.

Like EPCOT, without the globe and on a much smaller scale, the foods and wines represent the many ethnic flavors attributed to our Hispanic, German, Portuguese, Chinese, Caribbean, Polish, African American, Jamaican, American, Greek and Italian roots.

Beer and wine samples from across the globe, kids’ bounce houses and live internationally-renowned entertainment, including members of the Ancient City Pipes and Drums will round out two days of adventure.

Tonight, spectacular fireworks will light up the evening sky at dusk.

Admission is only $3 per day (kids under 12 are free of charge) and includes plenty of free parking surrounding Central Park. The Park is located just north of Flagler Palm Coast High School on Bulldog Drive.
