S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue, Inc. of Northeast Florida in St Augustine announced to local Historic City News reporters that tomorrow, Wednesday February 1, and again on Saturday February 4, they would hold their next adoption event at Pet Supermarket from noon until 6:00 p.m.
Pet Supermarket is located in the Winn-Dixie shopping center at US-1 and SR 207.
January 2012 marked the beginning of relocation for the pet adoptions, resale store, grooming, and dog-training classes from the current location in Treasure Beach into the 6,000 square-foot facility located at 1250 Old A1A in St Augustine Beach – just north of SR-312. The target completion date will be the end of February.
The building, which at one time housed two different Italian restaurants, needs some work in order to be converted into a usable facility. Volunteers who can offer goods, services or funds to help prepare the building are invited to participate.
Each week hundreds of healthy and very adoptable dogs, cats, kittens and pups are euthanized simply because their time in a shelter has run out. S.A.F.E. focuses their efforts on rescuing adoptable pets from facilities that are unable to house them indefinitely.
During the week, many pets are available to be seen at the existing S.A.F.E. Headquarters located at 6101 A1A South at Treasure Beach. For information on dogs and cats available for adoption, visit their website at www.safe-pet-rescue-fl.com
S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue, Inc. was founded in September 2008 and is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Donations may be tax deductible – ask your tax professional.
