In St Augustine last night, St Johns County Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, addressed Historic City News reporters and members of the Republican Party announcing the commencement of “early voting” in the Presidential Preference Primary Election.
The early voting period in this election, to determine which candidate will represent the Republican Party in their bid for the White House in November, will seven days — from Saturday January 21st at 9:00 AM until Saturday, January 28th at 4:00 PM.
That’s right — this is the first election in St Johns County where polls will be open on both Saturday and Sunday. Absentee ballots have already been mailed to those who requested them, Oakes told party members.
