The victim of an attack early Sunday evening, sat with sheriff’s sketch artist Vinnie Russo and tried to recall details about the assailant she says jumped her from behind then struggled with her until she was able to break free.
The attack came just before dusk on Sunday; according to the woman who was jogging on Old Moultrie Road, north of Lewis Point Road. She was able to escape from the attacker and summon a passing motorist who called 9-1-1.
Deputy Russo released a composite sketch to the media today with hopes that the image will lead to the identification of the man investigators believe intended to rape the victim — or worse.
This evening, the hunt is on for the yet unknown white man, believed to be in his early to mid 40’s, possibly between 5’10” and 6’02” tall, 180-220 lbs with shoulder length, brown hair and a full beard.
He was last seen wearing dark pants and a white t-shirt with some sort of design on it.
