The Secret River mural part of youth artists exhibit
A mural, “The Secret River” based on the book of the same name by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, produced by a group of 15 children of all ages and led by regional artist Eddie White, will be featured when the St Johns County Public Library debuts an exhibit of artworks from all parts of the county.
Pieces on exhibit will cover a variety of media, including photography, sculpture, textiles, and painting, produced by exceptionally talented local children and teens.
“Libraries are not just places to check out the latest best seller,” said Library Director Debra Rhodes Gibson. “Today they provide opportunities for creative expression of all kinds.”
An opening reception will be held on Tuesday morning, June 19th from 8:15 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at the Rotunda Gallery located in the St Johns County Administration Palace located at 500 San Sebastian View off of US-1 North. The event is open to the public and all are invited to view the art and enjoy refreshments.
The pieces will be on view until Friday, September 21, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
