Marcus Pinson informed Historic City News reporters in St Augustine that an extensive rehabilitation of Valencia Street, between Riberia and Malaga Streets, is set to begin on Monday, July 30.
The project is expected to take about three months.
The project will include installation of a new six-inch, PVC water main pipe that will both increase the quality of the water and strengthen the capability of fire hydrants in the area.
Additionally, the project calls for new sanitary services, and complete rehabilitation of the roadway and sidewalks.
Minimal street closures are anticipated, and all local traffic will have access to their property.
A public meeting regarding the project will be held on Thursday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the office of Dental Concepts located at 72 Valencia Street in St Augustine.
