Trooper First Class Christopher Conrad in St Augustine reported to Historic City News that at about 8:00 p.m. last night, a Palm Coast teenager driving a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck, was involved in a crash that may have been witnessed by one of our readers.
The Florida Highway Patrol is attempting to determine why the 19 year-old driver, Kelani Scroggins of Palm Coast, drove off the roadway as she traveled along Seminole Woods Parkway, east of Sesame Boulevard.
The truck reportedly traveled approximately 450 feet on the grass before striking multiple trees, causing an estimated $15,000 in damage.
Scroggins was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the incident and sustained serious injuries requiring air ambulance service to transport her to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach.
Possible alcohol related charges are pending results of the toxicology examination.
