Assistant State Attorney Christopher France reported to Historic City News this morning that the docket call for 38 year-old Andrea Lee Zampatti has been continued by the court until Tuesday, November 13.
The motion for continuance, filed by Zampatti’s Largo, FL attorney, John H. Trevena, was approved; establishing the docket call and subsequent trial date for November 26, 2012.
Zampatti was thrust into the headlines April 23, 2010, after the SUV she was driving charged five civilians and two deputies. Based on a psychological evaluation the following month the court found Zampatti incompetent to proceed and ordered her commitment to the Florida Department of Children and Families.
That was in July 2010; however, the court reopened the case December 29 after receipt of an updated psychological evaluation, which included a proposed order in the matter.
Zampatti has been released from custody at the St Johns County Detention Facility pending trial after she posted appearance bonds totaling $810,000 on February 14, 2011.
For those readers interested in attending the hearing or trial, each will commence at 9:00 a.m. on the dates set in Courtroom 264 on the second floor of the Richard 0 Watson Judicial Center located in St Augustine.
