400-JAMES-JOSEPH-GUPTILLCommunity Resource Officer Mark Samson informed local Historic City News reporters that a warrants check by St Augustine police officers last night has resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old man on 50 separate charges of failure to appear.

The fifty outstanding Brevard County warrants against James Joseph Guptill, were discovered by police when an officer made contact with the fugitive on SR-312 near Plantation Island Drive, Samson told reporters.

Guptill, who resides at 223 North Whitney Street in St Augustine, was placed under arrest and transported to the jail without incident.

He remains in custody this morning in the St Johns County Detention Facility at the Neil J Perry Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of $530,000 bail.
