Christy Myers, Vice President of Florida Huddle, announced to local Historic City News reporters that St Augustine and St Johns County’s Renaissance World Golf Resort and Conference Center will showcase Florida travel destinations to travel buyers from around the world beginning Thursday January 24th through 26th.
Florida Huddle is all about business — clearly focused on an intensive three-day conference where travel buyers and travel sellers make decisions on potentially millions of dollars of travel revenues coming into our state.
“Delegates get the chance to meet, network, and renew long-standing industry friendships, and the World Golf Hall of Fame will kick things off with a fabulous evening of fun and food,” Myers told reporters. “With Florida celebrating its 500th year, what finer place to be than St Augustine and St Johns County where Florida history has deep roots.”
Once the conference is underway, the agenda turns to work — local tourism professionals, and their counterparts from around the state, will represent their destinations, attractions and properties from exhibit hall booths during scheduled business appointments where the goal is to negotiate and sign new tourism contracts.
“Everyone will be trying to catch the eye of tour operators, wholesale travel marketing consortiums, and receptive operators,” Executive Director of the Visitor Convention Bureau, Richard Goldman, told Historic City News. “If you haven’t visited St Augustine and St Johns County lately, you are in store for a real treat.”
Contract negotiations at these sessions will be for the 2013 and 2014 travel seasons. Journalists from travel media representing consumer, trade and online publications will be in attendance; seeking out new Florida story ideas for placement throughout the year.
