Betty Griffin House has invited Historic City News readers to attend the candlelight vigil on Thursday, October 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Constitucion, as we honor survivors of domestic violence as well as the women, men and children who have been murdered in St Johns County in acts of domestic violence.
The Silent Witness exhibit to be displayed is made of red, life size silhouettes — each represents a person who once lived, worked, had neighbors, friends, and family before losing their lives during acts of domestic violence. This Domestic Violence Awareness Month exhibit will specifically recognize and honor the victims of St Johns County.
Betty Griffin House has been hosting this vigil for 4 years, providing a way for domestic violence survivors, family members and friends of victims, to come together with staff and Betty Griffin House supporters, as a community of individuals dedicated to the mission of eliminating domestic violence.
