Assistance locating two missing Flagler Estates teens

Jim Neuenfeldt reported to Historic City News this afternoon that the search is continuing in Flagler Estates for two local teenagers who have gone missing and have not been heard from since about 4:35 p.m. on Friday January 11.

With no phone call, note, or contact between any family member or known friends, 15-year-old Callie McDonald and 15-year-old Joseph Barrows, were last seen getting off of a St Johns County school bus on Kirchner Avenue near Frederick Street in Flagler Estates.

“I posted a map on the Flagler Estates News facebook group page showing the area where Callie McDonald and Joseph Barrows were last known to be,” Neuenfeldt told Historic City News.

An unknown person, who may have been Barrows, was spotted going into the woods off Division Street near Dillon Avenue around noon yesterday. About 15 people, or so, who are neighbors and other volunteers, have been assisting with the foot search of the heavily wooded area.

According to Neuenfeldt, the search produced some clothing articles that included shoes, a sleeping bag, and a girl’s necklace — found along one of the roads in Flagler Estates.

Sgt. Chuck Mulligan told Historic City News that, at this point, the Sheriff’s Office believes it is a case of a runaway — we inferred from his remark that no foul play is suspected.

Callie McDonald’s mother, Candy Louise McDonald, reported that her daughter was wearing a black and grey striped sweater, a dark grey hoodie, black pants and sneakers. The missing girl is said to be 5′-1″ tall and about 110 lbs., with medium length dark brown hair and brown eyes.
