Boy bitten by shark at St Augustine Beach

Just south of Ocean Trace ramp this morning, 9-year-old Connor Baker was playing in the ocean with his friends; when, according to televised reports, a shark, approximately 4-feet in length, appeared in the water and took a bite into the boy’s left leg.

Baker had quite a scare, but according to St Johns County Fire Rescue, he is doing fine.

“The injury was minor, but required the boy to be transported to Flagler Hospital where he received nine stitches,” reporters were told.

The attack happened at about noon today.
