Council on Aging Coasters strike again

Posted on 08/24/201308/26/2013 By Historic City News

400-WII-BOWLING-COA-COASTERCouncil on Aging Program Assistant, Janet Minner, reported to Historic City News that all three St Johns County Council on Aging senior centers have entered the “National Senior Wii Bowling Tournament”.

A total of 256 teams nationwide participate in this 7-week event. Teams are divided into brackets and compete weekly. Results are entered online and posted at each center every Friday.

“The big news is that the Council on Aging Coasters have already scored their first victory against the Four Stooges from Oshkosh, Wisconsin,” Minner told reporters. “Everyone is invited to join in the fun or just come over to cheer for their home teams.”

The Council on Aging Coasters are on the Wii lanes every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Coastal Community Center, 180 Marine Street in St Augustine.

After a brief celebration, Coasters team members Robert “The Beast” Unangst, Ruby “Wii” Cook, Pat “The Ringer” Lorenz and Mary Ann “The Closer” Sanders were already planning their strategies for the next game.
