Tourist Development Council
Vacancies: One
Purpose of Committee: Recommend funding of facilities, programs, or contracts that are primarily for the purpose of, and related to, the development, advancement, furtherance, improvement, or promotion of tourism.
Qualifications: Seeking one applicant who is an owner/operator of motels, hotels, or other tourist accommodations subject to the bed tax. Applicants must be registered voters in St. Johns County.
Meeting Schedule: This Council meets the 3rd Monday of every month at 1:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the County Administration Building, 500 San Sebastian View.
Application Submission Deadline: Friday, August 30
Arts/Culture/Heritage Funding Panel
Vacancies: Two
Purpose of Committee: This panel’s purpose is to review and evaluate proposals for St. Johns County not-for-profit organizations that provide programming and events of a cultural, artistic, or heritage nature that will attract visitors and are enjoyed by residents.
Qualifications: One member is required to be actively engaged in the arts, culture, and heritage industry and reside outside of the County; the second member should be actively engaged with the tourism/hospitality industry and reside in the County.
Meeting Schedule: This Panel meets quarterly (January, April, July, October) at the County Administration building, 500 San Sebastian View.
Application Submission Deadline: Friday, August 30
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
Vacancies: Three
Purpose of Committee: Review established policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and the adopted local government comprehensive plan to recommend specific action or initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of the property to appreciate in value.
Qualifications: Seeking one member who is engaged in the residential home building industry, one member engaged in banking or mortgage banking industry, and one member engaged in areas of labor in home building.
Meeting Schedule: This committee meets quarterly and on an as needed basis.
