St Johns County reported to Historic City News that Kevin Roberts has recently been recognized twice – first as “Case Manager of the Year” by the Florida Coalition of Children, and this week as St Johns County’s “Employee of the Year”.
During the past 8 years, Roberts has been employed in the Family Integrity Program. He currently serves as an Independent Living Coordinator and Dependency Case Manager.
“It takes a special patience to serve at risk youth,” Roberts said. “I find it rewarding to help young people pursue their educational goals and personal dreams.”
According to the announcement, Roberts goes beyond fulfilling his daily responsibilities as a case manager; he also teaches Parenting and Fatherhood Initiative classes to incarcerated adults at the St Johns County Detention Center.
His department says Roberts works tirelessly to support his clients — both locally and beyond St Johns County borders. When he’s not engaged with young people in town, he teaches Life Skills classes at two regional Department of Juvenile Justice facilities.
