Historic City “News in Photos” Contest opens Monday, August 5, 2013 to shutterbugs and newshounds eager to compete for a cash prize and gifts sponsored by Computer Doctors in St Augustine.
So, grab your digital camera and head out this weekend — then, on Monday, submit your original digital photograph of any newsworthy activity in St Augustine, St Augustine Beach, Hastings, Ponte Vedra Beach, or anywhere in St Johns County, to contest@historiccity.com and you may be eligible to win.
“We really appreciate Larry Squire at Computer Doctors on North Ponce de Leon Boulevard for sponsoring this contest with us,” Michael Gold, editor of Historic City News said. “Digital photography today is more than a hobby, since the advent of cell phone cameras and mobile devices with photo-editing software. We look forward to showing off our community’s talents over the next 4 weeks.”
Three judges will be announced at the close of the contest that will evaluate the entries and select a first, second and third-place winner to receive cash and prizes for their winning entries. The contest is open to amateur photographers at least 18-years-old. Contest Rules can be found at https://historiccity.com/contest and our Terms of Service at https://historiccity.com/terms-of-service.
The winner of the contest will receive a $100.00 cash award for the top news photo selected by our judges. 1st runner-up will be presented a $75 discount card and 2nd runner-up will be presented a $50 discount card provided by Computer Doctors.
Historic City News will publish a gallery of entries as the contest proceeds with photographic credits for the entrant. Winning submissions might be an image of El Galeon Andalucia, a historic reenactment at the Castillo de San Marcos, a growing storm front, discovery of a special bicycle trail, an impromptu surf competition, or a fishing tournament.
To submit an entry, attach your digital photograph, in either .jpg or .png digital format, along with your name, address, telephone number, age, and brief description of the subject, to the contest e-mail address: contest@historiccity.com
