St Johns County Public Library System Administrative Office Coordinator, Angelina Gervasi, informed local Historic City News reporters in St Augustine of the following activities planned for September at the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

Storytimes @ Anastasia Island Library
Baby / Toddler Time: Wednesdays @ 10:15am
Little Ones Craft Time: Wednesdays @ 10:45am
Preschool Storytime Wednesdays @ 11:05am
Storytimes are every Wednesday, September 4 through November 27. Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs. Come for songs, stories, and fun. We look forward to seeing you all. To ensure everyone is able to enjoy quality storytimes, we have a maximum capacity (first come, first served) of 50.
Anastasia Island Movie Club

Raindrop Therapy

Give your feet a treat by experiencing Raindrop Therapy. Inspired by the Lakota Indians, Raindrop Therapy uses therapeutic oils for balancing and rejuvenating the mind and body. When properly applied to the neck, back and feet, these essential oils can bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalances in the body. Writers’ Theater Partnership

This program is dedicated to bringing out the best in your play, screenplay or short story. Fellow writers and participants will help you develop your work by reading aloud and providing feedback. Kids LEGO Brick Club

Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces. We supply the LEGO bricks and fun – all you need to bring is your imagination. There is no registration or fee for this program.
Teen Event: National Milkshake Day Celebration
September 12 @ 3:30pm
Teens (Age 12-17) are invited to make delicious smoothies and milkshakes in honor of National Milkshake Day. We’ll supply fruit, juice, and ice for smoothies as well as chocolate, peanut butter, and almond milk for milkshakes. This tasty program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Library.
Anastasia Island Book Club

A collection of interconnected narratives, Julie Otsuka’s richly imagined novel, The Buddha in the Attic, focuses on a group of Japanese women who come to California after World War I as “picture brides” to marry men they’ve never met. Peace Day Kids & Teen Craft Event

Celebrate International Peace Day by creating fabulous peace crafts. We’ll be making pinwheels, tie-dyed tissue paper bowls, and tie-dyed t-shirts. Celebrate National Comic Book Day with Andre Frattino

Celebrate National Comic Book Day with author/illustrator, Andre Frattino. He will be making a special appearance at the Anastasia Island Branch Library to bring alive his artwork for kids of all ages. Andre has appeared at the St. Augustine Beach Art Association and other libraries and will be a participant in this year’s Florida Heritage Book Festival.
Teen Craft: Make Your Own Journal

Teens (Age 12+) are invited to celebrate Banned Books Week with us by creating personalized journals. We’ll have all the supplies needed to create a stylish journal; all you need to bring is your imagination. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Library.
Monarch Butterflies for the Backyard Enthusiast
