Lincolnville street parking closed next week

City inspector Brett Brown reported to Historic City News that starting on Monday, August 26 and continuing through Friday, August 30, a city contractor will be trimming trees within the right-of-ways along streets lying south of King Street, and between Riberia Street on the west and Cordova Street, on the east.

Because of the trimming, there will be no parking along these streets from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day and vehicles remaining in the area will be towed at owner’s expense. There will be no exceptions.

Specific streets affected are:
Cordova Street, M. L. King Avenue, Granada Street, Washington Street, Oneida Street, Dumas Street, Sanford Street, Weeden Street, Benedict Street, Blanco Street, Twine Street, Riberia Street, La Quinta Place, Cedar Street, Bravo Street, Desoto Place, St. Francis Street, De Haven Street, Pomar Street, Moore Street, Park Place, Kings Ferry Way, Lincoln Street, Lovett Street, Keith Street, South Street, Duero Street and Cerro Street.

City ordinances require overhead clearance of 14-feet above the road surface; this project brings this area into compliance. Trees around aerial utilities are the responsibility of electric, phone and cable television providers.

No street closures are anticipated and all local traffic will have access to their properties. However, at isolated work areas, vehicular traffic will be narrowed to one lane with flag men.
