As host city for the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover set for September 13 and 14, the City of St Augustine has informed Historic City News that they have made a commitment to ensure that all visitors have an equal opportunity to enjoy the event to its fullest by making every effort to accommodate accessibility needs.
Both the park-and-ride parking location at the Northeast Florida Regional Airport and the extensive shuttle system developed just for this event are ADA compliant, so those who need accessible parking will find the most readily available needs-based accommodations by utilizing the shuttle.
All shuttle routes will be serviced by an ADA capable vehicle equipped with a wheelchair lift. Those requiring such assistance may call to ask for the service which will be available at each regular shuttle stop. The specific request line number will be determined by the shuttle provider in advance to the event. The request may be made as much as two hours prior to the start of the shuttle system (10:00am) through the end of the show (11:00pm). Those requesting the service should allow up to one hour for from the time the request is made.
Once at Francis Field, the site of the event, those needing assistance may stop by the Access Center near the entrance and obtain information regarding the restricted viewing area reserved for patrons with mobility limitations (plus one companion). Those are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that service dogs are permitted on both the shuttle system and the event site.
