Historic City News has learned that one of Lincolnville’s newest residents, Candace Duncan, is returning home from Caesar’s Palace, in Las Vegas, Nevada; where she attended the bi-annual 3-day Knowledge Summit and commencement ceremony of the American College of Financial Services.
Upon her graduation, Duncan received the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter; the world’s most respected designation of insurance expertise, allowing designees to gain a significant advantage in a competitive market.
“This prestigious course of study helps to advance the career of insurance professionals by providing in-depth knowledge on the financial needs of individuals, business owners and professional clients,” according to a college representative.
To receive the CLU designation, you must successfully complete all courses in your selected program, meet experience requirements, and ethics standards, and agree to comply with The American College Code of Ethics and Procedures.
Duncan is a native of Orlando, and employed by State Farm Insurance Company. She received her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of International Business from the University of Florida.
The Summit, attended by the brightest minds and most influential leaders in financial services, gives graduates the opportunity to celebrate their academic achievement with friends, family, professors and peers.
Duncan was joined for the commencement ceremonies by her cousin, Courtney, sister-in laws Priscilla Duncan, who flew in from Hawaii, and Elizabeth Duncan of St Augustine. She is married to Minister Zachary Duncan; pastor of St Augustine’s Grace and Truth Prayer Center of the Apostolic Faith. They have two daughters; Nia and Gabrielle, who attend local schools.
