After having no significant movement since December, Historic City News has learned that David Birchim, Planning Manager for the City of St Augustine, received word Monday that the controversial 7-Eleven, being built at the intersection of May Street and San Marco Avenue is moving forward.
Charley Carpenter, representing the builder, Creighton Commercial Development LLC, located in Cape Coral, Florida, instructed their architect, Harrison French & Associates of Bentonville, Arkansas, to forward the latest building and canopy elevations, floor plan and site plans to the Planning and Building Department this week — they were received Wednesday afternoon.
“The Development Review Committee meeting is held every Friday morning at 8:30,” Birchim told Carpenter in an exchange of e-mails obtained by Historic City News. “We can meet you on Friday, July 19 at 8:30 a.m. for your review.”
According to architect T. Gray Frazier, HFA Regional Program Manager working this project, all the submitted documents were last revised per meetings and discussions held with the City in December of last year.
Both Frazier and Carpenter are scheduled to attend the July 19th Development Review Committee meeting at City Hall.
