School Bus routes for St Johns County

Historic City News readers with school bus riders at home, should be receiving a yellow postcard in the mail this week notifying you of your child’s bus number, bus stop, morning and afternoon pick-up times, according to Christina Langston; Director of Community Relations for the St Johns County School District.

You can find routes on the school district’s website, or, if you do not have Internet access at home, you can visit any one of the St Johns County public libraries and their staff will assist you.

“Our intent is to provide the information prior to the first day of school in order to assist parents in preparing for the new school year,” said Joe Purvis, Director of Transportation. “Five new bus routes are being added for this school year to accommodate growth in the Durbin Crossing and Nocatee areas as well as an increase in the number of special needs students.”

According to Purvis, the School District will be operating 166 school buses, transporting approximately 19,200 children, twice a day when school starts on Monday, August 19th.
