Search for new Chamber president

400-DAN-ALEXANDEROn Wednesday, October 23, the Board of Directors approved the creation of a search committee to begin looking for a new President, following the resignation of current president, Kirk Wendland. The Chairman of the Committee is Dan Alexander with ThompsonBaker Agency.

The Search Committee is currently seeking applicants for the full-time staff position of President. The position can be viewed at www.sjcchamber.com/president.

Interested candidates should submit a resume to president@sjcchamber.com, with a cover letter briefly describing their vision for the organization, along with their qualifications.

Cover letters and resumes should be submitted no later than November 30, 2013.

The St. Johns County Chamber, which had 885 members in September of 2010, merged with the Ponte Vedra Chamber of Commerce this past April and has grown to over 1,100 members.

Are you eligible to apply?

Experience required:
Minimum five years managerial experience in Chamber of Commerce or non-profit organization or in Economic Development related fields.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
  • Understanding of financials
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word

Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications.

Our mission is to deliver continuous, value-added service to our members and the community; resulting in a business environment and quality of life where existing business have the opportunity to prosper, and new businesses find it attractive to locate in St Johns County.

The Chamber has defined the membership services through four distinct areas of focus: Development, Advocacy, Education and Promotion. Based on responses from a series of focus groups and a membership survey, Chamber staff will begin implementation of this service plan that supports these strategic areas of focus and aims at boosting membership satisfaction.
