Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw informed Historic City News reporters that a 39-year-old registered sexual offender, who was raised in St Augustine and then moved to Michigan as an adult, is in custody in St Johns County tonight; charged with 100-counts of possession of child pornography — he was convicted of the same crime in 2005.
Jeramy Lee Graham, who gave his address as 207 Lightsey Road to the county jail but was arrested at a residence located at 940 Kings Estate Road in St Augustine, was taken to the St Johns County Detention Facility and booked at 12:31 p.m. today. He remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bond.
In 2003, Graham returned to St Johns County; two years later, on February 18, 2005, a man purchased a computer from a local pawn shop that originally belonged to Graham. Before the new owner gave the computer to his 12-year-old daughter for her birthday, he checked the hard disk and discovered pornographic images and movies of minor children.
Graham was convicted and sent to prison. After his release, Graham was sentenced to another 1-year, plus 1-day, prison term on December 12, 2012, after he was convicted of aggravated assault with a weapon. He remained in state custody at Century Correctional Institution until six weeks ago. At the time of his arrest, he was still on probation.
The current investigation began when the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint accusing Graham of soliciting sex from a minor. During the course of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the computer in the home where Graham resided. Forensic examiners located thousands of pornographic images of children on the computer; resulting in the latest charges.
Kelshaw reported that this investigation is continuing.
