Jon Burpee informed local Historic City News reporters that, on November 23th, the National Park Service will host an evening that will bring the historic timeline of the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument to life.
Staff and volunteers will portray soldiers from the 341-year history of the Castillo who have returned, for one night, to tell their story. As soldiers who have manned the fort, they will guide visitors as they discover the different historical periods of the Castillo.
“At each stop of the tour, visitors will learn about the historical events and significance of this venerable fort,” Burpee told Historic City News. “Soldiers representing the major periods of the fort’s history will be stationed throughout the fort.”
There will be six tours on November 23th.
The first tour begins at 6:45 p.m. in the evening, followed by tours at 7:00, 7:15, 7:30, 7:45, and 8:00. Tickets are $8.00 per adult, children ages 15 to 5 are $4.00 and children under the age of 5 are free.
Tours are limited to 30 people per tour. Tickets are available from the Fee Station of the Castillo De San Marcos National Monument.
