St Johns County School Superintendent, Joseph Joyner, Ed.D., has announced to local Historic City News reporters the names of the four finalists for “2012-2013 Teacher of the Year” — selected from 35 nominees representing each school in the School District.
Joyner, accompanied by School Board Vice-Chair Bill Mignon and School Board Member Bill Fehling, surprised the finalists at their schools last week to inform them that they will be recognized on Thursday, February 21 during ceremonies held at the Renaissance Resort at the World Golf Village.
Awards will be presented to both “Teacher of the Year” and “Rookie Teacher of the Year” during the annual celebration produced by the St Johns County Education Foundation to recognize excellence in the teaching profession.
The finalists for Teacher of the Year are Rob Hall of The Webster School, Julie Pantano of Switzerland Point Middle School, Dr. Kathryn Kehoe of Ponte Vedra High School, and Jessica Geronimo of St Johns County Transition School.
