Historic City News readers are invited to participate when the fine art of Brad Bennett is presented Tuesday, November 5th from 8:15 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. in a collection “Watercolors of the World” on display in the Rotunda Gallery of the St Johns County Administration Palace located at 500 San Sebastian View in St Augustine.
At 9:00 a.m., the Board of County Commissioners will convene their regular meeting in the adjoining auditorium. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend; and, to learn how your county government operates.
“I had the opportunity to fulfill a boyhood dream over 20-years ago when asked to produce an extensive series of every baseball park in the Major Leagues for the title America’s Baseball Temples,” Bennett told local reporters. “I traveled to every ballpark for two years to collect materials with which to create my original watercolor paintings.”
After working for decades as a professional artist and illustrator in Chicago, the 62-year-old Bennett, his wife, Carol, and his Labrador, Phoebe, relocated to Palencia in St Augustine in 2007. Brad is a member of the Rotary Club of St Augustine.
The St Johns County Board of Commissioners has provided the use of the gallery for this “Art in Public Places” project. The building is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no admission charge. “Watercolors of the World” will run from November 5 through January 23, 2014.
