Historic City News has learned that at least 120 cars heading for the Gentlemen of the Road Tour on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14, will have a place nearby to park — assuming they can get to it.
Ancient City Baptist Church is allowing Young Life of St Augustine to offer parking for 120 vehicles attending the Mumford and Sons Festival in their parking lot; only 2 blocks from the concert site and only 4 blocks from beautiful historic downtown St Augustine.
The sold-out, 25,000-ticket concerts which feature performances by the popular band, will be held at Francis Field, located at 29 W Castillo Drive in St Augustine. Although Ancient City Baptist Church is located at 27 Sevilla Street, most of the side streets will closed or heavily restricted.
According to the group which has been in St Augustine since the early 1970’s, all proceeds will go to fund their ministry. Young Life will sell only 120 parking passes each day for $30 per day plus a processing fee. Staff and volunteers will be at the location at all times that the lot is open between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. each day.
The group’s website says that the one-day parking passes cannot be resold, nor is re-entry allowed after departure. Vehicles left in the lot after 2:00 a.m. will be towed.
