Looking to enhance, revitalize, or update your yard with vibrant, colorful plants and flowers? Want to learn more about how best to beautify your yard in our area? Then mark your calendars for the upcoming 19th Annual Flower & Garden Expo to be held on Saturday, April 12 from 9am to 5pm and Sunday, April 13 from 10am to 4pm at the St. Johns County Agricultural Center.
A popular spring event, the Flower and Garden Expo will delight all ages with growers, nurseries and artisans from around the state offering shoppers every item to make your garden and yard all it can be! This year’s show features a variety of vendors bringing a wide array of horticulture including herbs, ferns, succulents, citrus, tropicals, anthuriums (the ‘love flower’), colorful flowering plants, butterfly plants, native plants, gardening accessories and art. Everything needed to begin, restart and enhance gardens and yards will be available at the Expo.
There will be a lecture series both days with door prizes at each lecture.

10:00 am – “Growing Roses in NE Florida”, Fred Whitley, Gardening Editor
11:30 am – “Tomatoes, Tomatoes, Tomatoes”, Keith Fuller, SJC Extension Agent
1:00 pm – “Taking the Mystery Out of Growing Orchids”, Sue Bottoms, Master Gardener
3:00 pm – “Know Your Landscaping Style”, Madeline Samec, SJC Extension OfficeSunday, April 13
11:00 am – “Florida Native Plants 101”, Renee Stambaugh, Native Plants Consulting
12:30 pm – “Water Gardens”, Keith Fuller, SJC Extension Agent
The Garden Club of St. Augustine will be presenting their annual Flower & Horticulture show with the theme of “Through the Garden Gate”. Working under the same theme will be the beautiful quilt show sponsored by the Piece Makers Guild.
Tickets are $5.00 for a two-day pass, and children under 11 admitted free. There is plenty of free parking on site. Patrons at the Expo can also use their Expo ticket for discounts at local attractions such as the St. Augustine Historic Walking Tour, Pirate Museum and Marineland. In addition, the Expo pass will get patrons into EPIC’s “A Taste of St. Augustine” on April 26. At the Expo, food and beverages will be available for purchase both days.
