2015 Special Senate and House elections
St Johns County Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, wants Historic City News readers to participate in the upcoming special election for State Senator and State Representative.
Oakes provided the following important dates and times for St Johns County voters.
“My staff and I are here to serve you and we will make it easy for you to vote,” Oakes told local news reporters. “Please visit our office, call or use our online forms and resources to help you prepare for Election Day.”

January 27, 2015 Special Republican Primary Election
(Open to all Republicans in St. Johns County)April 7, 2015 Special General Election
(Open to all registered voters in St. Johns County)

Vote by Mail
Anyone can request an absentee ballot and vote by mail. Many voters who requested absentee ballots during the 2014 elections requested them for two general elections and will receive them through the 2016 elections. These voters will automatically receive absentee ballots for the special elections.
A number of requests for voters who received absentee ballots expired following the 2014 general election. Not sure when your request was made? Visit our website and use the voter lookup to see when your absentee ballot request expires or call the Elections Office at 823-2238.
Overseas Absentee ballots will be mailed December 12th
Regular domestic absentee ballots will be mailed December 29th
Red Absentee ballot drop boxes
Distributed January 12th (2 weeks prior to the election). Available at the same locations: All public libraries, St. Augustine Beach City Hall, and the Tax Office in PV & JC.
Early Voting
Special Primary January 17th – January 24th 9 AM – 6 PM daily
Special General March 28th – April 4th 9 AM – 6 PM daily
Including the holidays (ML King birthday and Good Friday)

Polling Places
The same locations used during the 2014 elections will be used for the Special Primary Jan. 27th.
The ONLY exception is for the General Election – April 7, 2015, and the one polling place that was not available is the Convention Center at World Golf Village (Pct. 501). For the one election, this precinct will be moved to Davidson Realty, 100 East Town Place, St. Augustine, FL 32092 (at WGV).
