A cake cutting ceremony with Florida Army National Guard leaders will take place at the St. Francis Barracks, located at 82 Marine Street in St Augustine, at 4:00 p.m. following the ceremonies.
The actual birthday of the Army is June 14th; founded on June 14, 1775, when the Continental Congress authorized enlistment of riflemen to serve the United Colonies for one year.
Today there are more than 10,000 soldiers serving in the Florida Army National Guard.
