Despite heavy rain and occasional thunder and lightning, the event was moved inside the gymnasium at the Solomon Calhoun Center where candidates for offices ranging from municipal commissions and boards, to district offices, circuit judges, one state senatorial race as well as one cabinet member.
“It is important that elections are decided by an informed electorate and we want to help people get to know the politicians who represent them when decisions are made,” said Chamber President Isabelle Rodriguez. “The real value of this annual event is that Chamber members and the public are able to meet, one-on-one, with the people whose names will appear on their ballots on August 26th.”
Those who were not able to attend the event in St. Augustine will have another chance when Politics in St. Johns travels on Thursday, July 24th to the Hilton Garden Inn; located at 45 PGA Tour Boulevard in Ponte Vedra Beach.
