
The St. Augustine City Commission met in a special meeting on Thursday, August 21 to discuss the 2014-2015 budget. The three hour meeting, held in The Alcazar Room was open to the public.

Ahead of the meeting the city’s financial staff prepared a workbook and a summary of a five year capital plan for commissioners as reference tools during the meeting.

To facilitate and organize the discussion, staff also prepared a presentation that summarized much of the budget information, but also outlines a number of priorities for the city.

The meeting was an opportunity for the commission to review the proposed budget in an informal meeting format. There still remain two public hearings on the budget scheduled for September 11 and September 25, each starting at 5:05pm. Those public hearings will also be held in The Alcazar Room.
The 2014-2015 budget goes into effect with the start of the fiscal year on October 1.
