Notary services for basic documents will be available to Historic City News readers at the Main Library in St. Augustine, as well as the Bartram Trail, Hastings, and Southeast Branch Libraries beginning November 1st.
Examples of this service may include oaths, bills of sale, and acknowledgement of a signature.
“Our patrons have come to expect that the library is a one-stop location for many types of services, and offering to notarize basic documents fits into that service model,” Library Director Debra Rhodes told local reporters.
While the Library strives to provide this service during all operating hours, it is always recommended that the public call ahead to ensure that a notary will be available when they visit their library location.
A photo ID is required to obtain notary services. The fee is $3.00 for each item notarized, with payment due at the time of service. Library Notaries will not provide service if the customer, document, or circumstances of the request for notary service raise any issue of authenticity, ambiguity, doubt, or uncertainty. Library Notaries do not offer legal advice and they are not required to leave County property to perform notary services.
