Posted on 01/14/201401/15/2014 By Historic City News

400-Culhanes-Irish-PubCulhane’s Irish Pub owner, Lynda Culhane, announced to Historic City News that Culhane’s will conduct a special promotion this month to honor our military, our veterans, and the military heritage of North Florida. Culhane’s is a proud, and long-standing, corporate affiliate member of the Navy League at Mayport, and is open for lunch and dinner to host their monthly mixers.

All active and retired military will receive a discount of 20 percent every time they dine this month at Culhane’s Irish Pub in Atlantic Beach; located down the street from Naval Station Mayport at 967 Atlantic Boulevard. Already discounted items are excluded.

“With tens-of-thousands of active duty military calling this area home, and with the new addition of Navy ships calling Naval Station Mayport their home port, Culhane’s Irish Pub wanted to give something back to our servicemen and women who give so much to keep our country safe,” Lynda Culhane told Historic City News. “My sisters and I appreciate all of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of our armed forces who allow us to raise our families, run our business, and enjoy everything that America has to offer. We wanted to say thank you and that we appreciate you.”

In the 1990’s, the Culhane Sisters (Lynda, Michelle, Mary Jane and Áine) became the first generation of their family to emigrate; from Shanagolden in County Limerick, Ireland. The family farm is where the sisters developed a genuine love for the land, wholesome food, and Irish traditions.

Established in 2005, Culhane’s strives to bring a real taste of Ireland to North Florida, and was selected 2014 Small Business Leader of the Year by the Beaches Division of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. Culhane’s boasts that they have become one of the best Irish pubs in the country, being recognized as America’s Best Irish Pub and Top Ten Irish Pubs, 2011. They have been featured on national television; including, the Food Network’s, “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”.
