Kris Phillips, President of Historic City News’ broadcast news partner, Newstalk 102.3 FM and 1240 AM WFOY, sums up the value of the “Dancing Stars of St Johns County” gala to benefit Kids Bridge and the St Augustine Community School for the Performing Arts, in simple terms.
The performance will be hosted by Lisa Eva Gold and John Reardon. Generous financial sponsorship has been provided by Beaver Toyota Scion of St. Augustine and Flagler Hospital.
Borrowing from the popular MasterCard commercial, she wrote;
Dance Shoes… $75.
Dance Dress… $100.
Watching Kris Phillips Dance … Priceless.
All proceeds from the fundraising event, January 18, at River House, located at 179 Marine Street in Saint Augustine, will help provide programs and services to children and families in our community.
Kids Bridge Family Visitation Center provides supervised visits and parent exchange services for families in crises, such as divorce, domestic violence and abuse allegations. Kids Bridge also offers a variety of parenting and divorce classes.
St. Augustine Community School of Performing Arts (SACSPA) has a mission to “find and nurture the spirit of creativity and talent that lies within every person.” The SACSPA offers outreach programs and quality instructions throughout the community serving the elderly and the youth. Programming includes a variety of artistic mediums and opportunities for students to perform and show off their blossoming talents. SACSPA is currently serving The Boys & Girls Club of NE Florida.
The local celebrity panel of judges for the fundraising gala has been announced, and they have been brushing up on their basic dance knowledge. Jane Mathis, Cathy Brown, and John Regan will be evaluating the performances of the 2014 Dancing Stars.
