Dead body discovered on Ponte Vedra Beach

Deputies are combing the dunes, in search of and collecting evidence after a resident walking their dog stumbled across a body Sunday morning, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

The body was found about 9:00 a.m. in the 800 block of Ponte Vedra Boulevard. It appeared to have been there awhile, deputies said.

Chuck Mulligan, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, told local news reporters that investigators have not yet determined the person’s identity or a cause of death in the case.
