Guana volunteers served cheese smorgasbord Friday

Tomorrow, Patrician Price informed local Historic City News reporters that all volunteers at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve’s new Fish Habitat Project will earn a complimentary meal courtesy of Cabot Creamery Cooperative’s Gratitude Grille food truck.

The Friends of the Reserve volunteers are reinstating and enhancing fish habitat at the Wright’s Landing coast by preventing erosion and promoting growth using a combination of mussel and oyster-based living shorelines as well as Spartina alterniflora marsh grass.

“Cabot’s chefs will serve up creative versions of mac and cheese, soups, grilled cheese sandwiches, and more Cabot favorites to fuel our volunteers,” Price told Historic City News. “The Gratitude Grille is a traveling kitchen, conceived by the farm families who own Cabot; to thank volunteers, community-service-based organizations, and groups for the extraordinary work they do in supporting and sustaining their communities.”

The event will take place at the Environmental Education Center located at 505 Guana River Road in Ponte Vedra Beach on Friday, April 11th, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
