Guest Column: Why you should vote for Kathleen Trued

This election season has shown more than ever why we need leaders who are unafraid to tackle difficult issues. In this moment, we need individuals who will offer clear solutions to our most daunting challenges.

I am a leader who promises to represent you and your family in the Florida Senate.

With more than thirty-five years of experience as a teacher, I actively worked to improve the lives of my students. As a community leader, I have empowered others through charitable work and active volunteerism, showing genuine concern for finding real solutions to problems.

Over the last year, I have reached out to voters across the district and across party lines. I have actively listened to the real concerns of the voters, while showing my commitment for political unity. I understand that the most critical obstacle to prosperity has been Florida’s long tradition of divisive partisanship.

For much too long, gridlock within the political arena has halted progress. At a recent event, I said, “By working across party lines, we can foster economic growth for small businesses and make our tax dollars accountable to us. I believe that although we may have our differences, our shared values can bring us together.”

The Roman statesman Cicero once said “Let the welfare of the people be the ultimate law.” I believe in this sentiment and I have shown that I am a leader that will focus on the people. This election is about more than political parties… the decisions that we make as voters represent who we are as a people.

For this and so many other reasons, consider your vote for Kathleen Trued on November 4th.
